This is the readme file for the MSIB Plus Pack Version 1.0.

This file provides details on the setup and installation of the MSIB
Plus Pack for use with Microsoft Content Management System, ASP.NET and
in Microsoft.NET Framework.

The installer places a shortcut to the MSIB Plus Pack MSDN

Prerequisites
=============

MSIB Plus Pack development and implementation requirements:
	- Microsoft Content Management System 2002 (preferably
		with SP1 or greater) 

	- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (preferably SP3a or greater) 

	- Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 

	- ASP.Net 1.1* 

	- Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 is required for the
	  External Authentication component and for the Metadata
	  component.

	- SQL Server Reporting Services is required to develop and
	  implement the Content Auditing reports 

	- A subscription to Microsoft Mappoint Services is
	  required to implement the MSIB Plus Pack Nearest
	  component. Trial accounts are available from:

		http://www.mappoint.com 

* Apart from the Content Auditing Reporting Services reports. 

The use of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 is advised for developing applications to implement MSIB Plus Pack components.


Setting up the MSIB Plus Pack Designers in Visual Studio .NET
=============================================================

The MSIB Plus Pack designers enable visual creation and editing of
each of the MSIB Plus Pack controls. Add these controls to the
Toolbox in Visual Studio .NET by following these steps:

1. Start Visual Studio .NET.

2. Open the Toolbox, right-click it, and select Customize Toolbox.

3. Select the ".NET Framework Components" tab.

4. If you manually installed MSIB Plus Pack and did not add the
registry key, then you will need to perform the following additional
steps:

	a. Click on the "Browse" button.

	b. Navigate to the folder in which the DLL is installed. By
	default, the installation folder is
	"C:\Program Files\MSIB Plus Pack\".

	c. Select the require assembly file(s) (see below).

	d. Click "Open" to return to the Customize Toolbox dialog.

5. Check the boxes for the required MSIB Plus Pack controls to add to the
Toolbox.

6. Click OK to accept your changes.

7. Exit and then restart VS .NET to save these changes.

The MSIB Plus Pack Designers should now appear in the Toolbox.


License Activation
==================
The MSIB Plus Pack requires a valid license key to activate its components. Trial, development and full licenses are available. For information about acquiring a MSIB Plus Pack key, see www.msibpluspack.com 

To activate MSIB Plus Pack with your key open the Activate Plus Pack application and enter your license key. The application will confirm the validity of your key. Keys can be remotely configured by editing the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MSIBPlusPack's key field using regedt32 (or equivalent). 

If you have an invalid or expired keys MSIB Plus Pack components will throw errors. MSIB Plus Pack warning components will also warn you 7 days from expiry of a trial or development license. Windows form and console application components will provide an informative message every time they are run during this period. Other components will throw informative exceptions daily on their first use.
