Sharepoint Site Permissions Manager (SPSPM).

Thank you for testing the SPSPM Release 1.6.

This release is designed to test interface functionality, layout and ease of use.
This release will currently add or remove users/groups from your Sharepoint Portal install. There currently is no Area management functionality only Site management can be performed in this release.

You will need to be an IIS administrator or Machine administrator in order to install SPSPM.

Please visit the workspace for this project located below:

Installation:

1.	Unzip the Setup.zip file to your hard disk.

2.	Make sure that the Sharepoint Site is your Default Web. You can change the port during the install if you have Sharepoint on another port (i.e. 8080)

3.	Run the <drive>:\Setup.exe and place the SPSPM in the _layouts/Sitepermissions/ virtual directory of your Sharepoint Portal Server.

4.	Change the application pool in the Sitepermissions folder to the SAME application pool as your Sharepoint installation. (MSSharePointPortalAppPool is the default.)

5.	Navigate to http://{server}/_layouts/Sitepermissions and the SPSPM should appear.

Notes:
1. SPSPM is site context sensitive, and you can use it from anywhere within your portal webs. (i.e. If you are currently in http://server/sites/somesite you can execute the SPSPM from there by appending the _layouts/Sitepermissions to the end of the URL like so: http://server/sites/somesite/_layouts/Sitepermissions. This will give you the ability to manage the sites from that level on down only.)

2. SPSPM will only display the sites that you are a member of the site Administrators group or you are a site collection owner of.

3. SPSPM will only display sites that are actual team sites and not workspaces. This means the site has a template ID of either 1 or 21. Please refer to
Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\1033\XML\WEBTEMP.XML for details on template IDs.
