SUMMARY

The Microsoft Mouse does not work correctly on the serial port of a Zenith laptop computer if the serial port has been disabled by a change in the system configuration setting.

MORE INFORMATION

Either or both of the serial communications ports (COM1 or COM2) may be disabled on Zenith laptop computers by changing the system configuration. This may be accomplished by pressing the CTRL+ALT+INS key combination at the DOS prompt in order to get the "monitor" program. In the monitor program, type setup. You may now page up or page down between Setup screens to choose which items, including serial ports, you want to enable or disable. This ability to change the startup system configuration holds for most of the Zenith 286 and 386 models of laptop computers.

The Zenith laptop computers are manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
