This information applies to both Microsoft DoubleSpace and Microsoft DriveSpace. For MS-DOS 6.22, use DRVSPACE in place of DBLSPACE for commands and filenames.

If you try to run SYS.COM on a drive that has been compressed with DoubleSpace, you may receive the following error message:

SYS cannot operate on target drive
To transfer the MS-DOS system files to your hard disk drive, you need to specify the host drive for C. For example, type sys a: h: at the MS-DOS command prompt and then press ENTER. To determine your host drive for drive C, type dblspace /list at the MS-DOS command prompt and then press ENTER.
