Specifies the type (INTEGER, LONG, SINGLE, DOUBLE, STRING, or a user-defined type) for a variable in a declarative statement or parameter list. INTEGER - specifies that a variable is a 16-bit signed integer. LONG - specifies that a variable is a 32-bit signed integer. SINGLE - specifies that a variable is single-precision floating-point. DOUBLE - specifies that a variable is double-precision floating-point. STRING - specifies that a variable is a string, in a COMMON, DIM, REDIM, SHARED or STATIC statement.
